I have been teaching at Northview High now for 7 years. I have taught H Biology each and every year. I enjoy this course because I am a science and outdoor enthusiast. I first became interested in the environment and the natural world around me when I was in HS (back in the early 90's). I participated in Boy scouts all through that time and went camping each month with my friends in scouting. I earned the rank of Eagle scout in 1995 and I first began teaching when I worked at Boy scout camp as a merit badge counselor. Some of my best friends that I hold dear today, I first met while working at boy scout camp. To this day I love to be outside as much as possible: swimming, camping, hiking, paddling, and mountain biking are a few my favorite activities. Any activity that I can do with my dog (my current best friend) is a plus.
At school I do more than teach during the day; you will find me as the coach of the robotics team; as the assistant coach of the Mock trial team and as the coach of the ultimate frisbee club (intramural sport).
This summer was great because I was present to see the space shuttle launch on 7/9/2011. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I am glad that I was on the beach to witness it. I grew up in the age of NASA's space shuttle and it is a little sad that it's last flight has concluded.
